I love these pins by birdsinchandeliers on etsy. They are the sort of thing I was thinking of making for the place cards on our reception tables.

I like the little details like sequins and tulle, they add a wedding-y feeling.

Other ways to use buttons in my wedding

The button bouquet.

I think this is a difficult craft to do well. Careful selection of buttons and colour pallet is important as it is very easy to make this a very tacky thing indeed.

The wedding video dilemma.

I like the idea of having a wedding video, but I also agree with Nico that beautiful stills photography can tell the story of the wedding day perfectly. My sister had a fantastic wedding photographer who captured all the special details of the day, she stands by her decision NOT to have a videographer. That said, I would like to have a videographer at my wedding especially since we are having an unconventional ceremony. Trouble is that generally wedding videos are so tacky.

The Dress

Everyone I've shown my wedding dress ideas to so far agree that this is the dress for me.

It is called Sophie by Sarah Arnett. I am probably going to have to go to London to buy it but buying a wedding dress with my sister will make it a little more special (sad Rosie can't be here too).

Billy Button bouquet

I love these bouquets. They remind me of great grandma's garden and granny's folk art. My little Mirabel would be adorable as a flower girl carrying a bouquet like this.

Not sure where this image originated but I've seen around the wedding blog circuit a few times (I took it from greenweddingshoes, I think?)

I think these would make nice centre pieces in yellow vases with white ceramic birds beside them.

I hope to somehow combine this love with my love of dahlias.

Button Bride

My future husband doesn't really understand my vintage button collection. For me it's like treasure hunting, I love digging through a box of old buttons looking for something special. I told him that he is lucky that I collect something so small and cheap! Anyway I think buttons are beautiful and I plan to use them to decorate our wedding reception. 

Button seating chart. I think I'd use different coloured buttons vintage buttons for each table and co-ordinate with button and fabric napkin rings/pins that can be detatched from the napkin and worn as lapel pin by our guests during the party!

This bride had a similar idea. (Found on stylemepretty) But I'd make mine from rosettes in soft spring colours to contrast with the vintage buttons.

I almost died from happiness when I saw these vintage button chocolate molds on http://bakeitpretty.com/ I would love to give our guests a little packet of edible vintage buttons as wedding favors. If I have my way this wedding will be all buttons and bows, Poor Nico!
